History of the brand HKM — surprising beginning!

The brand was founded in 1967 and initially, it was producing... reusable diapers. The company was launched by Hans Egbers, and currently, HKM is managed by his son, Klaus Egbers. At the same time, while developing a sartorial business, the brand's founder and his wife were running a big equestrian school. Soon, they joined these two worlds to obtain high-quality textiles for riders and horses. The owners hoped they could create products that they could use themselves - they made their first saddle cloths and sweat rugs. Since the late '80s, HKM launched the sales of equestrian accessories beginning a whole new chapter of their story.

The development of the brand was simultaneous with the popularity of horseback riding that people started treating it as a hobby and a stepping stone from their daily chores. HKM was designing new products and looking for new ways to grow and appeal to the customers, so one of the founder's sons began running the family equestrian school as a horse management expert. Today, HKM supplies over 2000 stores in Europe with their products! One of these stores is Equishop.
